My work as the personal photographer & videographer of Damon Dash.
I started my new job as Damon Dash’s personal photographer & videographer the very night that I moved across the country and flew into New York City. I had no idea we would end up flying to London, LA and wherever else once a month on private jets at a moment’s notice. I had no idea of the things I would end up seeing. Indelible situations involving a cast of characters that boggled the mind and provided an enormous amount of entertainment. Damon’s circus traveled the world, and to this day, it’s still surreal to look back on all of it.
SANTERA TEQUILA
We found ourselves in and around the town called Tequila amongst the blue agave fields, at the mercy of the crackled dry lake beds and within dynastical tequila distilleries. Without upcoming job prospects on the horizon, I informed the Guadalajara-based crew that I would not be flying back to the States and that I would explore the Mexican Mainland as it was my first time there. After the shoot wrapped, members of the crew took me on a surf camping trip to Nayarit. I was invited to Mexico City and ended up living there in the ancient metropolis for 3 glorious years.

A 5 month bop around the world…
EDUN

Deep in Northern Uganda a mere 5 years after the Joseph Kony’s grip of terror on the region was finally lopped off. Sharing time with Ali Hewson to visit with the organic cotton farmers who provide EDUN with the materials that make up their clothing line, which has been dedicated to empowering local people from all over the world. Though the concentration camps and the violence were but fresh memories for the farmers who were now free to work their land and provide for their families, the children were born after all of that had passed and Hope lay ahead.
